Notes on the 2017 Cape Cod portrait season. (UPDATE)

For anyone finding my work here, looking into scheduling for the 2017 season:

In January 2016, my husband Tom passed away after a 14 month struggle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

With that, I took a necessary break for the 2016 season to process my grief, be with family and friends, travel and to enjoy a quiet summer.
I have always planned to return to my photography business looking forward to this coming season, but with the loss of my husband, everything has changed, including my business as I ran it in the past. Moving ahead with this soon to be arriving season, I am restructuring and really,
re-creating everything.
I will have a new website, featuring new work, and the sessions I am offering will be much more refined.

What I have realized glaringly with Tom’s loss is the deep importance of a portrait.
When your loved one is no longer here on the planet, what is left is the love you shared and the images of this person, which are immortal.
Coming from this new perspective, I intend to enter into every session with my clients knowing the portraits I create are that powerful for my families.

I am still moving very slowly through the overwhelming process of re-engaging with my photography work and putting myself out in the world again. By June of 2017, I will be accepting commissions for the coming Cape Cod summer.

Much gratitude for all of the support, patience and love I have received from so many during this time.

I look forward to seeing you on the beach soon!

-Rebecca.

2016. | Cape Cod PHOTOGRAPHER

To my valued clients past and future:
Due to the recent passing of my husband, I will be taking a sabbatical for the 2016 summer portrait season to rest and regroup.

I am planning to relaunch my business for the 2017 season.
I look forward to seeing you then on the beaches of the Cape, as well as other locations as my future travel schedule allows.

Many thanks for your understanding as I take some time to heal from this most devastating loss.

With gratitude,
Rebecca.

Rachael Rolon - Rebecca,

I am so very sorry to hear about your husband’s passing. You photographed my husband, infant, and me about 13 years ago and we still cherish the photos. I recently told my 3 kids about you and my little dream to receate our trip to Cape Cod and have you photograph all of us. So, I looked you up just now and found out about your husband on your website. Sending you my prayers and wishes for peace and comfort. I hope that when we get ourselves together for a trip to the Cape, you will be there to take some photos!

Hugs,
Rachael

update on travel portrait sessions. | Cape Cod PHOTOGRAPHER

Due to my husband’s continuing illness, unfortunately, what I was planning to be bi-annual portrait availability in California is now not possible. Therefore, I will not be traveling to the West coast this October as I had previously hoped.

I may be available for Florida sessions this coming winter during the months of January through March, depending.

This summer on the Cape was a purposely quiet one comparatively, but every session I was blessed to photograph was fantastic, with beautiful clients, light and landscape.

My photography work, both personal and professional, is the true joy and fulfillment that has always carried me through so many experiences in my life, including this difficult time.
I look forward to reconnecting with clients past and new, East and West, moving forward, in the time ahead.

With gratitude.
Rebecca.

An announcement for the 2015 Summer Season | Cape Cod PHOTOGRAPHER

Due to an illness within my immediate family, I will only be accepting a very limited number of portrait sessions for the coming 2015 Summer season. Please inquire as to my availability.

I truly value my Cape Cod summer portrait clients. I am blessed to meet many wonderful families each year who trust me to capture their memories.
This summer, I need to take the time to capture my own.

To my clients, past, present and future, I appreciate your understanding and I sincerely look forward to meeting you once again on the beaches of Cape Cod.

With gratitude,
Rebecca.
