hey there

I thought I would check in to this blog to mention that I am here working diligently on proof editing, and the many orders we have received thus far this season. On top of that, I am still out shooting new sessions every night!

As far as proofing sessions, I am now up to August 17th sessions, so about two and a half weeks out. Portrait orders are moving a little slow as there are just not enough hours in the day this time of year, but they are for the most part on track.

Things slow down after this week, the beginning of the end to a wonderfully successful season! I have had the opportunity to meet many great families, and thank them all so much for choosing me to be their photographer this summer!

I still do have mid-week availability through the end of September, and also am shooting into October, so if you are on the Cape and would like to do a portrait, please do not hesitate to call me.

Finally, as of tomorrow, any new portrait orders placed fall under our Holiday Rush schedule, which means that they are not guaranteed until December 20th. We handle everything first come, first serve, and the earlier you order, the earlier you will receive your portraits, so please keep this in mind moving forward!

Thank you to all of my clients for their business this summer and I hope to see many of you again next year!

some current availability

I have been crazy busy, hence my absence from this blog.
I am getting many inquiries for the week of August 21st, and for that time period, I only have earlier sessions available where you would have to travel to the location where I am already shooting my second session.
The locations include Orleans, Centerville, Martha’s Vineyard, and I believe Dennis. Contact me and I can give you the best possible location based on where you are staying.

This coming week, I still have the 18th fully open, so this is a prime time session where I can travel to your location. Someone will grab this, so contact me asap to get on the schedule. Otherwise, I have earlier sessions available next week in Chatham, Brewster, Sandwich, Dennis, and Falmouth.

The number at the STUDIO is 508 / 362-2779 if you would like to book any of these session times.
The summer is leaving fast so take advantage before sweater weather is upon us once again!
Only three weeks until Labor Day weekend!

Art Opening at the STUDIO this week!

Olde Cape Cod

new works by Rebecca Brown PHOTOGRAPHER
and
vintage photographs by James McLaughlin

July 15-September 6, 2010
939 Route 6A (Main Street)
Suite B
Yarmouthport, MA

OPENING RECEPTION July 15th from 6 to 9 PM at the STUDIO @ 939 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA
Studio #: 508 / 362-2779

(put “Main Street” into a GPS, NOT Route 6A)

This show features photographs of dune shacks and motels from a time soon passing us by on the Cape, that of the quaint, olde Cape Cod. The images were photographed in 2001 and 2002 on film negative, and are being shown for the first time.

Also showing are vintage photographs by James McLaughlin.
About five years ago, Rebecca purchased a dresser drawer at an estate sale for $10, which was full of slide film photographed by Mr. McLaughlin in the 50′s and 60′s. He was a member of several camera clubs, and had a terrific eye. The images are fantastic depictions of Cape Cod life of that era.

Rebecca has scanned and restored a series of twelve of Mr. McLaughlin’s images, printing them for this showing.

Please join us for the opening reception the evening of July 15th from 6-9PM at the STUDIO of Rebecca Brown PHOTOGRAPHER.

recent work and availability for the week of July 12th

Please enjoy this recent work from my sessions of the last week!

As well, I wanted to update about my availability for the coming week of July 12-18th.
The only date I have fully open during this time period is Sunday, July 18th.

I do have a prime 7PM session available on Monday, July 12th in West Dennis.

Otherwise, I have what I refer to as “secondary” slots (two hours prior to sunset) available all week except for Thursday. The secondary slots are scheduled next week at 6:00PM, and you would have to come to the location where I am already shooting in the primary slot (an hour prior to sunset) . The available locations for next week are as follows:

Tuesday in Chatham, Wednesday in Sandwich, Friday in Brewster, and Saturday in the New Seabury area.
Please contact me asap if you are interested in scheduling a session for this coming week, or anytime in July and August.
